Wallingford, Connecticut-based Aware Recovery Care, a leader in home-based addiction services, announced on Monday the appointment of Dr. Andrea Auxier as the new president of the company. Since joining Aware in May 2021 as chief growth officer, Auxier has been instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint and shaping its strategic direction. In her new role as president, she will lead the execution of the company’s vision, strategies, and goals with a strong focus on best practices, innovation, quality of care, and profitability.

A Leader with Clinical and Executive Expertise

Dr. Auxier brings to Aware Recovery Care a distinguished background that blends clinical expertise with healthcare executive leadership. Her career spans several high-profile roles including senior vice president at Quartet Health, chief commercial officer for New Directions Behavioral Health, and national director of integration with a focus on strategy and development for Beacon Health Options. This blend of clinical and business acumen positions her uniquely to lead Aware’s growth in a highly complex and evolving behavioral health landscape.

In addition to her leadership in behavioral health, Dr. Auxier is a passionate advocate for community health center programs. She has contributed to federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in multiple capacities, including serving as director of research at Colorado’s Health Center Controlled Network and as a clinical consultant for the Bureau of Primary Health Care. This experience has provided her with deep insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by community health programs, particularly in underserved populations.

Her academic credentials are equally impressive and foundational to her career. Dr. Auxier earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a master’s degree from New York University, and both a Ph.D. and master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts — Boston. She also completed postgraduate work at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, enriching her clinical expertise and research foundation.

Vision for Growth and Innovation

Steve Randazzo, CEO of Aware Recovery Care, expressed strong confidence in Auxier’s ability to lead the company forward. “As we strive to transform even more lives with Aware’s care, it’s the perfect time to even further position ourselves as a company to help anyone in need discover that hope and help for addiction is available, and that recovery is possible,” Randazzo said. “Andrea, with her experience and compassion, is the fit to help us do that.”

Transforming Addiction Treatment with Home-Based Addiction Services

Aware Recovery Care is disrupting the addiction treatment industry by shifting care away from traditional, facility-based models to home-based addiction services. This innovative approach offers patients and their families personalized, accessible treatment in the comfort and privacy of their own homes, which can improve engagement, outcomes, and overall experience. By embedding care in the home environment, Aware is not only meeting patients where they are but is also challenging the status quo of addiction treatment delivery.

Expanding Reach and Access

The company recently raised $22 million in a Series A funding round, a major milestone that underscores investor confidence in Aware’s innovative care model and growth potential. With this capital, Aware Recovery Care aims to expand its home-based addiction services nationwide, ultimately operating in all 50 states. Currently, the company has established operations in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Virginia, Florida, and Indiana. Its in-network partnership with Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) further broadens access for patients covered by one of the largest health insurers in the country.

A New Chapter for Recovery Care

This leadership change comes at a critical time as the addiction treatment landscape faces rising demand and increasing calls for more patient-centered, flexible care options. By appointing Dr. Auxier as president, Aware Recovery Care is doubling down on its commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and expanding access to life-changing home-based addiction services.

With Dr. Andrea Auxier at the helm, the company is well-positioned to navigate the challenges ahead and accelerate its mission to deliver effective, compassionate addiction care that meets the needs of today’s patients. Her combined clinical knowledge, strategic vision, and dedication to community health will be essential assets as Aware Recovery Care continues its growth trajectory and works to transform how addiction treatment is delivered across the country.

As Aware Recovery Care expands its footprint, patients and families can look forward to more accessible, high-quality care options that prioritize not only recovery but also dignity, respect, and personalized support. Dr. Auxier’s leadership signals a new chapter for Aware, one that promises to bring hope and healing to countless individuals struggling with addiction, wherever they call home. Through a continued focus on home-based addiction services, Aware Recovery Care is redefining recovery and offering new pathways to lasting wellness.
