The behavioral health field continues to grow and evolve across the United States, with new autism treatment facilities, substance use disorder (SUD) centers, and mental health services opening their doors. These expansions represent not only new buildings but also new opportunities for children, families, and communities to access vital care. From Illinois to Utah, providers are responding to growing demand for autism therapies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and adolescent behavioral health programs. Below is a closer look at some of the most recent and upcoming developments in the pipeline.

Autism Treatment Expands Across Illinois and Beyond

Autism Home Support Services (AHSS) in Rockford, Illinois

Northbrook-based Autism Home Support Services (AHSS) has expanded its reach by opening a new location in Rockford, Illinois. The new center offers applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy for children as young as 18 months. Services include one-on-one support, small group interventions, and social skills training tailored to the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

In addition to ABA therapy, the Rockford center plans to integrate occupational, physical, and speech therapy services in the near future, offering a comprehensive approach to autism care. AHSS is part of Invo HealthCare, a Pennsylvania-based behavioral health and special education management organization. With seven centers across Illinois, Colorado, and Michigan, AHSS is strengthening its presence in the Midwest and making critical services more accessible to families.

Caravel Autism Services Expands in Rockford

Caravel Autism Services, another leader in ABA therapy, has also planted roots in Rockford, Illinois. The center is currently conducting evaluations and will begin offering full client services by March. Caravel already operates in multiple Illinois locations, along with centers in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and its newest expansion demonstrates the rising need for autism services in northern Illinois.

Together, AHSS and Caravel’s new locations highlight the growing demand for autism therapy in Rockford. Families in the area now have greater options for specialized care, reducing the need to travel long distances to access services.

East Stroudsburg University Opens Autism Resource Center

Beyond private providers, universities are also stepping into the autism support space. East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania recently opened the Autism Education Center, housed within its Innovation Center. This new hub provides community residents and families with resources, referrals, networking opportunities, and training workshops.

The center also equips teachers with educational tools to better support students with autism in classroom settings. By bridging academic expertise with community needs, East Stroudsburg University is helping families access high-level care and evidence-based resources while strengthening professional education in autism support.

Cardinal Autism Services Opens in Texas

In suburban Sugar Land, Texas, Cardinal Autism Services has opened a new facility to serve individuals ages 2 to 22. This provider, based in Brighton, Colorado, delivers both in-clinic and home-based therapy, creating flexible options for families. Accepting most private insurance, the new Houston Autism Center reflects Cardinal’s broader mission to expand across multiple states.

With centers already operating in five states, Cardinal’s Texas expansion underscores how ABA therapy providers are meeting increasing demand in rapidly growing communities.

Substance Use Disorder Providers Strengthen Services

Pinnacle Treatment Centers Adds New Ohio Facility

Pinnacle Treatment Centers, headquartered in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, continues to expand its footprint in the addiction treatment space. The company recently opened a new MAT facility in Georgetown, Ohio. Designed to serve up to 75 patients daily, the center provides evidence-based treatment and accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, making care widely accessible.

This new center marks Pinnacle’s 99th facility nationwide and its 16th in Ohio. With services spanning seven states, Pinnacle is one of the largest players in the SUD treatment industry, offering a wide range of outpatient, inpatient, and MAT programs. Its new Georgetown location demonstrates the company’s commitment to addressing addiction in rural and underserved areas.

Northampton Recovery Center Prepares for New Headquarters

In Massachusetts, the Northampton Recovery Center (NRC) is preparing for a major move. Supported by a state grant, NRC will soon relocate its headquarters to a former bakery building that had been sitting vacant. This expansion reflects the growing need for community-centered addiction treatment in western Massachusetts.

The new facility will provide NRC with more space to deliver peer support, counseling, and recovery services. By converting an unused property into a hub of healing, NRC is also contributing to neighborhood revitalization while strengthening its community role.

Autism Therapy and Mental Health Facilities in Development

Hopebridge Autism Therapy Centers Plan Expansion

Hopebridge Autism Therapy Centers, headquartered in Indianapolis, continues its steady growth with major expansion plans. In Terre Haute, Indiana, Hopebridge will soon break ground on a new 10,000-square-foot autism center near Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Scheduled to open in November, the center will employ 55 staff members and serve 50 to 60 children between 15 months and nine years old.

This new location will replace an existing smaller facility, offering greater capacity and improved resources. Beyond Indiana, Hopebridge also announced plans to open 12 additional centers in Colorado over the next 12 to 18 months, a move that will significantly expand its reach in the Rocky Mountain region.

Hopebridge’s large-scale expansions reflect the organization’s mission to make ABA therapy widely available to families across multiple states. With early intervention proven to have lasting benefits for children with autism, increasing access is critical for long-term outcomes.

Vive Adolescent Care Brings New Facility to Utah

In St. George, Utah, a new adolescent mental health facility is set to open its doors next month. Vive Adolescent Care will provide stabilization and treatment services for up to 50 children. The facility is designed to offer both short-term and ongoing care, with treatment stays lasting up to 30 days.

Services will include one-on-one support and monthly follow-up options, ensuring continuity of care for adolescents in need. As communities nationwide confront rising rates of adolescent anxiety, depression, and other behavioral health challenges, centers like Vive are stepping in to fill an urgent gap.

Looking Ahead

The opening of new autism treatment facilities, SUD centers, and adolescent behavioral health programs highlights a critical trend: growing recognition of the importance of accessible, specialized care. From Rockford to St. George, communities are seeing new investments in behavioral health infrastructure that will serve children, families, and individuals in need for years to come.

For autism treatment, expansions from providers like AHSS, Caravel, Cardinal, and Hopebridge show that ABA therapy and related services are in higher demand than ever. Universities like East Stroudsburg are also contributing by building bridges between academic research and community needs.

In addiction treatment, organizations such as Pinnacle Treatment Centers and the Northampton Recovery Center are proving that expanding access to MAT and community recovery services is a priority across states.

As behavioral health needs continue to rise, these new and upcoming facilities represent more than just bricks and mortar. They symbolize renewed commitment to supporting individuals and families, building healthier communities, and addressing mental health and addiction challenges with compassion, innovation, and accessibility.
